Purpose and Independence Desk Atlas exists to help you make confident, measurement‑first desk decisions. Our recommendations are independent, evidence‑based, and driven by fit and function. We do not sell products and we do not accept pay‑for‑placement.
How We Choose and Review Products
- We prioritize products that pass our fit and stability thresholds and that support renter‑safe, upgradeable setups.
- We verify manufacturer claims, measure critical dimensions, and test compatibility using the process outlined on our How We Test page.
- We compare alternatives by desk width/use‑case and publish why we chose each pick.
Sourcing and Samples
- We buy products at retail when feasible. If a sample is provided, it receives the same testing and is accepted with no guarantee of coverage or a positive outcome.
- We disclose when a product was provided by a manufacturer.
Affiliate Relationships
- Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- Affiliate status does not influence which products we test or recommend, their placement, or our conclusions. We include non‑affiliate links when they are the best option.
Corrections and Updates
- We correct factual errors promptly and note significant changes within the article.
- We revisit recommendations as products or availability change and maintain version notes.
Conflicts of Interest Contributors must disclose any relationships that could bias coverage. We do not publish content by anyone with a financial interest in a product being reviewed.
Diversity of Setups and Users We design recommendations for a range of spaces, budgets, body sizes, and constraints (including left‑handed layouts, small desks, and shared/hot desks). When a product excludes a segment of users, we say so and provide alternatives.
User Feedback and Evidence We welcome reader measurements, photos, and long‑term reports. When user evidence changes our understanding, we update guides accordingly and credit the contribution when permitted.
